Tracy Ecclesine Ivie is a freelance writer/editor with 20+ years experience in magazines, books and newspapers.
Magazines
She served as editor of New Jersey Savvy Living magazine for two years, where she wrote articles and supervised freelance writers and production. Her other magazine credits include Working Woman, Popular Photography and Video, where she was a contributing editor. Tracy also worked for four years as associate editor of an award-winning stockholder magazine in the insurance and computer leasing field.
Newspapers
She worked for seven years at the Hunterdon County Democrat newspaper, where she served as the arts, education, and county government editor. Tracy was also editor of the Hunterdon Observer and won several awards from the New Jersey Press Association.
Books
Besides "Why Count Sheep When You Can SLEEP?" and "How to Get a Merchant Account and Take Credit Cards On and Offline," Tracy is also co-author in the book series, "Country Inns of America," published by Architectural Digest and Holt, Rinehart and Winston.
She also ghostwrote a 100-page resume preparation guide for Tom Jackson, author of "Guerrilla Tactics in the Job Market," and wrote "fun" histories of more than 150 New Jersey towns for a guidebook publisher.
Awards
1st place, New Jersey Press Association for article on libraries and the Internet
1st, 2nd and 3rd places, New Jersey Press Association as editor of a weekly news/feature page by high school students.
Gold JASPER (Jersey Shore Public Relations & Advertising Association) and Silver ASTRA (New Jersey Communications Advertising & Marketing Association), Excellence in Writing for an article she ghostwrote on marketing to baby boomers.
